Post: Education Manager
Location: British Schools Museum
Hours: Part-time 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (some weekend/evening work may be required), 12 month fixed-term contract
The Hitchin British Schools Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with the passion and creativity to increase our visitor numbers through exciting and innovative learning activities. Responsible for developing and coordinating inclusive programmes for schools and providers of higher education, the Education Manager will ensure the diverse and changing requirements of educational providers are integral to the programme design. As part of a talented team, the Education Manager is expected to play a part in determining our future through their contribution to achieving our strategic objectives, and developing a sustainable programme.
Connect our communities to our heritage by;
•Extending our Schools Education Programme
•Delivering programmes for secondary schools and further education establishments
•Developing attractive and diverse range of outreach activities for schools and community groups
Increase visitor numbers by;
•Creating a range of informal learning events and activities
•Identifying and engaging with non-visitor groups in our community
•Co-ordinating with the Museum Manager, Curator and Audience Development Manager to find other ways to increase access to our heritage and collections.
With a degree or relevant experience, you will have experience of running education activities and events, working with diverse groups and be able to communicate effectively with those groups through clear written and verbal presentations. Experience of training and working with volunteers is also desirable.
